A smash cake session is a playful photoshoot where your child gets to explore (and destroy!) their very own cake. These sessions are perfect for first birthdays but can be tailored for any age. The experience is all about having fun, and the resulting photos are filled with personality and joy.
What to Expect from Your Smash Cake Session
My cozy Melrose studio is fully equipped for smash cake sessions, with a variety of backdrops, props, and themed setups to choose from. I provide everything you need, including the cake if needed, or you’re welcome to bring your own to match a specific theme.
The session usually includes:

We’ll start with some clean and classic photos of your child before the cake comes out.
• The Cake Smash:
Then, it’s time for the main event!
Your child is free to explore, taste, and play with the cake while I capture all the fun.
• Optional Splash Session:
To finish off, I offer a mini bath session with bubbles
—great for cleaning up and capturing even more adorable photos!

I recommend bringing a couple of outfits,
including one for the portraits and another for the cake smash.
I have a selection of props and accessories to match the theme.
